8 Student-Ready Skin Recovery Essentials

I think we can all admit to neglecting our skin care regime from time to time. Whether you fell asleep with your makeup on, had too many sugary drinks, or have been stressing over class,
Kiehl’s Since 1851 has just what you need to save your skin!
Just try out a couple of my recommended skincare essentials and follow this easy routine:

1. Cleanser: Start with your favorite cleanser to wash away any dirt or makeup that may be on your skin. I like the Ultra Facial Cleanser ($10), which is great for all skin types.

2. Toner: Next, use a toner to balance the pH on your skin so that it absorbs all of the products to follow as efficiently as possible.  The Ultra Facial Toner ($8) is soothing and also works with all skin types.

3. Serum: Probably the most overlooked (ad borderline essential) step of any routine is the serum. The Powerful Strength Line Reducing Serum will help to even out your skin tone and provide you with your daily dose of Vitamin C, a vital ingredient for anti-aging ($60).

4. + 5. Eye Treatments: For the eyes, the Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Eye Brightening Concentrate ($44) will restore brightness to the under eye area while it strengthens and soothes puffy, tired eyes. This also contains Pure Vitamin C to help prevent and improve the appearance of aging skin. Layer the Concentrate with a bit of Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado ($28.50) to restore moisture to the delicate eye area.

6. Moisturizer: For your essential moisturizer, opt for the Skin Rescuer ($40) to help even out blotchiness while you rehydrate your skin. This product contains Rosa Gallica Botanical Extract, which minimizes the skin’s visible response to stress.

7. UV Protection: Since the Vitamin C attracts the sun, remember to pair with sunscreen (but that won’t be a problem since we all wear our sunscreen every day, right? Oh, college). The Dermatologist's Solution Super Fluid UV Defense ($40) is a sunscreen specifically formulated for skin health, so it won’t clog pores or make your skin greasy.

8. #EveryDayCarry: Lastly, throw the Blue Herbal Spot Treatment ($18) in your purse. Apply it to acne blemishes as soon as you feel or see one to save yourself from breakouts. The Spot Treatment penetrates pores to eliminate blemishes and helps prevent new ones. Just try not to use it on the same area more than 2-3 times a day so you don’t dry out your skin.

Finally, for anyone with a nighttime routine, add in the Midnight Recovery Serum ($46) to help speed up the natural restorative processes that your skin undertakes while you sleep.  It contains lavender essential oil, which is perfectly soothing for bed time! My recommendation: use the Midnight Recovery product after the serum and before the moisturizer.

It’s important to follow a daily routine, but it’s good to know that if you fall out of it, Kiehl’s will have your back. Have any questions about a specific product or want some help building the perfect routine for your skin type? Stop in and say hi! I'm more than happy to help you out.
